Vice-foreign minister mourns late former US president

Vice-Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu visited the United States' embassy in Beijing on Tuesday to convey his condolences and mourn the passing of former US president Jimmy Carter.
While extending his deep sympathies, Ma spoke positively of the important contributions Carter had made for the development of China-US ties and bilateral friendship, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.
